New Year, New Scripture Study Series
Scripture Study with Tim
Did you ever wonder about the Old Testament Scriptures that we hear at Mass? Do you think that they truly are “old” and have nothing to do with our “modern” Christian faith? If you have come see what St. Augustine meant. Two Bible studies will begin in the middle of January that will answer your questions about the Old Testament.
Exodus Bible Study
The Exodus is the central event of the Old Testament. Its themes of liberation, wilderness, Passover, covenant, and God’s dwelling are central for the whole bible. It tells the story of God calling Moses to be the prophet through whom God will lead the people to freedom from slavery in Egypt and their struggles to learn faithfulness in the wilderness where God makes covenant with them. The Ten Commandments from the ethical core of this covenant while the instructions for building a tent of worship accentuates God’s intention to dwell in the midst of the people
This Bible study will meet every Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in Lehner Center. It will be facilitated by Tim Krolikowski. Contact him by phone 330.273.1120 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org if interested.
PANORAMA OF THE OLD TESTAMENT
While every character, story, and book of Scripture is significant in itself, stepping back for a broad, panoramic view of the entire Bible helps us to take in and understand God’s single, unified plan for human history.
This Bible Study will be facilitated by Tim Krolikowski and will meet the first and third Thursdays of the month at 7:00 P.M. in Lehner Center.
