Back in 2017, my husband and I were just starting out. We were newly married, our careers were taking off, we’d just bought our first home, and we were dreaming of growing our family. To anyone watching from the outside, we seemed to be living the “American Dream.” But there was a little snag—$275,000 in debt. It felt like we were stuck financially, with credit cards, car loans, and “normal” money stress all around. Was this really the only way? We decided to explore a different path. That’s when we discovered Financial Peace University and “The Baby Steps.” Over nine weeks, we learned principles that helped us create a budget, pay off debt, invest for the future, and become more generous givers. Was it easy? No, but it was definitely worth it.
