Life is Messy Book Discussion

Day, evening and virtual sessions coming in February!

Life is messy. It isn’t a color-within-the-lines exercise. It’s a wild and outrageous invitation full of uncertain outcomes. The mess of life is both inevitable and unexpected. It is filled with delightful mysteries and frustrating predicaments. In our disposable culture, we throw broken things away.

So, what will we do with broken people, broken relationships, broken institutions, broken families, and of course, our very own broken selves?

We are all broken and wounded. This book is about putting our lives back together, and allowing ourselves to be put back together, when life doesn’t turn out as we expected it to.

Based on his own heart-wrenching personal journals, Matthew Kelly shares how the worst three years of his life affected him, by exploring this question: Can someone who has been broken be healed and become more beautiful and more lovable than ever before? The answer will fill you with hope. There has never been a more urgent need for us to attend to what is happening within us. This is quite simply the right book at the right time.

Bible Studies

Little Rock Scripture Study

Monday evenings from 6:30 – 8:00 pm  OR
Wednesday mornings 9:30 – 11:00 am
Held in Lehner Center, Luke

Mark Oldfield will be leading us through this study of Act of the Apostles beginning
Monday, January 31 st or Wednesday, February 2nd.

What does it mean for a community to follow Jesus? With full benefit of the Holy Spirit, the earliest believers shaped communities of faith from Jerusalem to Rome and all points in between. The Acts of the Apostles, Part One (Acts 1:1–15:35) invites us to witness the Spirit at work as the apostles of Jesus become evangelists and pastors, as communities of believers expand to include Gentiles, and as local challenges test the staying power of the young church. Commentary, study and reflection questions, prayers, and access to online lectures are included. 5 lessons.
