The St. Ambrose – Head Start Basketball Winter 2024 FUNdamental League

Saturday mornings from 9:00 – 10:30 am beginning on January 6, 2024 and continuing through February 10, 2024.

The League is for boys and girls in grades k-3.

The program will offer a fun and developmentally appropriate 90 minute skills training session each week.

The St. Ambrose – Head Start Basketball FUNdamental League is for the players. Kids need to enjoy the sport to want to improve. Our league’s key focus is FUN! This is an opportunity to develop basketball skills in a fun, low-stress environment. We encourage healthy competition in which kids play hard and play to win but not at the expense of belittling opponents, yelling at officials or displaying poor sportsmanship. We ask that players conduct themselves appropriately and exhibit good sportsmanship. We ask the same of parents and others who come to watch. Adults, please set a good example for the players.

For questions please contact Head Start Basketball Director Mike Klinzing at 216-392-4059 or St. Ambrose Athletic Director Ryan Harrington at or 413-320-3472.

League Highlights:

  • 6 week League playing every Saturday starting January 6 and ending February 10, 2024.
  • The program will offer a fun and developmentally appropriate 90 minute skills training session each week.
  • A positive and fun environment for kids to develop their basketball skills.

Saint Ambrose Athletic Boosters

The Saint Ambrose Athletic Boosters is a volunteer fundraising organization that benefits the athletic programs at Saint Ambrose Catholic Parish in Brunswick, Ohio.  Through our fundraising efforts, we are able to support high quality sport programs at Saint Ambrose.

Membership meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the first Monday of each month, in the Lehner Center from August through May.  There are no meetings in June or July.

Membership consists of all families whose children participate in the sport programs facilitated by the Athletic Boosters and those interested in promoting Catholic values in sports.

Children from our neighboring Catholic parishes, Saint Colette, Saint Martin of Tours, Holy Martyrs, Our Lady of Grace, Saint Francis and Saint Emilian are welcome to participate in our sport programs.
