What's the background of your church?

Saint Ambrose Catholic Parish was founded in 1957 in Brunswick, Ohio. With 16,000 members made up of 5,000 families, Saint Ambrose is the second largest church in the Diocese of Cleveland and the largest church in Brunswick, Ohio. Although there are many faces around campus, each member of our parish community is special. When you're at Saint Ambrose, you're not a number, but a member of our family, the Family of God.

How do I get to Saint Ambrose?

We’re pretty easy to find, especially since we’re on a state route! If you want to GPS us, plug our address in: 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick, Ohio, 44212. (We recommend using Google Maps.) If following a GPS is not your thing, don’t worry, it’s fairly easy to get to us off the highway. If you’re coming from the south, take I-71 North to Route 303 (exit 226) and hang a left. You’ll pass a bunch of shopping centers, mostly on your left. When you see a Walgreens on your right, you’ll know it’s time to turn right onto Pearl Road (Route 42). Take Pearl until you see our church on the right hand side. If you’re coming from the north, take I-71 S to the Route 82 (exit 231 B). You’re going to want to hang a left onto Howe when you’re exiting the highway, so make sure you’re in the left lane getting off the highway. Once you turn left onto Howe, take it all the way until it dead ends into Boston, and hang a right. Then, when you hit Pearl Road (Route 42), take a left (you’ll see a Burger King on the corner). Just take Pearl until you see us on the left!

What are your Mass times?

I'd like to become a parishioner at Saint Ambrose. What steps do I need to take?

We’re glad to have you join us! The process of registering here at Saint Ambrose is pretty simple: register online or, if you prefer, in person at the front desk of the Parish Life Center. (Registering online is quick, safe and easy, though, so we recommend going that route.) Once we receive your registration, our pastor, Fr. Bob Stec, will invite you to a meeting on campus so that he can welcome you personally and introduce you to the wonderful opportunities here at our church.

I'd like to get married at Saint Ambrose. Can you walk me through the process?

Congratulations! This is an exciting time for the both of you, and we are happy to be a part of your special and holy day. Please contact the Parish Office at 333.460.7300 at least six months ahead of your proposed wedding date. Why six months? Well, there’s a few reasons, the main one being that we want to make sure you two have the time to spiritually prepare for this holy Sacrament. From a practical standpoint, you also have a better chance getting the wedding date and time the more in advance you book your wedding. With this in mind, we recommend booking your wedding at least 9 months to a year out, although it’s never too early to register.

I'd like to baptize my child at Saint Ambrose. What steps do I need to take?

Congratulations! We offer a baptism class on campus that helps to prepare you and your family for this Sacrament. Visit our Baptism web page for all of the details!

I am going to need to schedule a funeral at Saint Ambrose. How may I do so?

We are very sorry for your loss. Although we believe in the the goodness of our Lord and the Resurrection, we also know how terrible this time can be for you. Please contact the Parish Office at 330.460.7300 to begin making arrangements. Know that you and your loved ones are in our prayers. As a parish family, we are here for you. Our Griefshare ministry is an opportunity to cope with the loss of a loved one. If there is anything else we can do for you, please let us know.

I'd like to become Catholic. Can you tell me a little about the OCIA program?

We’re happy to have you join our Catholic faith! To become fully initiated into the Catholic Church, you’ll need to participate in the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) program. Ask any of our past participants and they will tell you what a rewarding and beautiful experience this program is. You’ll need a Catholic sponsor during this time in OCIA; your sponsor can be a spouse, family member or friend, so make sure to pray over it (but don’t stress over it)! You will be welcomed as a full-fledged Catholic during the Easter Vigil when you receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation.
