Accompaniment Training for Mental Health Ministry

Accompaniment – a practice of long-term partnership that requires a commitment to walk alongside someone, to see the world as they do, and to face obstacles hand in hand. Being there, together, for as long as it takes.
During this active learning experience you will:
- Learn what to do and say to accompany families with mental illness
- Learn and practice accompaniment skills to help others
- Receive accompaniment resources and strategies to use in your setting
Who should attend:
Mental health ministry leaders, educators, Stephen Ministers, ministry leaders and any persons with an open mind and loving heart who seeks to accompany families with mental illness.
Trainers:
Dobie and Lisa Moser lead Saint Ambrose Mental Health Ministry. Lisa is an educator and family mentor to immigrant families. She is an accompagnateur to many individuals and families affected by mental illness. Dobie is the Senior Director of Mission and Ministry for Catholic Charities and CYO. He is a national trainer and author. They have 7 children and 6 grandchildren and love God’s human family.
