Our Lady of the Rosary
The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated since the Rosary brings us closer to our Blessed Mother and she brings us closer to her Son, Jesus Christ!
Our Lady came to the aid of Christian soldiers in the Battle of Lepanto, and, later, Pope Pius V instituted a feast in thanksgiving to Our Lady of Victory. Eventually, Pope Gregory XIII changed the name of the Feast to Our Lady of the Rosary to emphasize the power of Mary’s intercession in times of trouble.
During October, which is "month of the Rosary," our Legion of Mary will have a table at the entrances of the Church with free Rosaries and information on how to pray the Rosary. They invite everyone to join them on Thursdays at 6:00 pm to the Chapel for their 20-minute Rosary Challenge throughout October.
