The Body and Blood of Christ

The Eucharist is at the heart of who we are as Catholics. Christ promises us Himself in the form of His Body and Blood in this most blessed Sacrament. This beautiful gift has its roots firmly in the Gospels: Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. – Matthew 26:26-28

Good Samaritan Ministry

For more than 26 years, the “Good Samaritan” Ministry has faithfully carried out their mission to bring the “Eucharist” to the Homebound, to visit the Sick and those recovering from the hospital, and to pray and listen to those who request it. During the last five years, this mission of care and compassion has also responded to Our Lord’s call to minister to those who are hospitalized. Not only do we bring the “Eucharist” to the Hospitalized, but we pray we listen to and share in the suffering of our brothers and sisters.

Besides being a compassionate person who desires to serve your brothers and sisters, this ministry requires you to be a “Eucharistic” Minister.
For those interested in the “Hospital” Ministry, a 1-2 hour Orientation at Medina Hospital is included as part of your training.
Our general meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of the month. If you are experiencing God’s “call” to serve either as a “homebound” or “hospital” Minister or if you are “homebound” and would like one of the “Good SAMS” to bring the Eucharist to you, contact Deacon Frank, Gladys Kemski or the front office of the Saint Ambrose Parish Life Center.
