How will YOU choose GOD in the New Year?

Becoming a Disciple of Jesus

You’ve already chosen to follow Jesus. Now, spend some time in the New Year becoming more like Him.

  • Begin your day with the Jesus Prayer.
  • Mornings can be rough on the best of us. Find peace, especially during the most chaotic of mornings.
  • Express love whenever possible.
  • Take “caring for others” to the next level of considering others more important than yourself. Find time for joy…in every thing you do.
  • Put patience into practice.
  • Have faith in the power of Jesus Christ. Allow ONLY Jesus to control and lead you.
  • Model kindness to the forgotten and/or flawed.
  • Practice self control – even when it seems impossible to maintain.
  • Jesus was a teacher and you can be too. Find time to learn and then share your knowledge with others, especially when it comes to the Word of God.
  • Model public and personal evangelism in all aspects of your life.
  • Be gentle and kind to those who falter in their faith. They are not lost. Seeing you strong in ONLY Jesus will make a difference in their lives.
  • Prioritize your relationships. Jesus loved His disciples and He invested in the relationship He had with each of them.
  • Read the Bible and sing our hymns. Jesus is in all of those words.
  • Know that you cannot be perfect. ONLY Jesus was made in this divine way.

New Year’s Mass Times

We would like to invite (and challenge) all of us to come to Mass on the first day of the year especially to pray for world peace and family unity.

We live in very challenging times. Our families are often stretched and stressed. Our world is marked by very fragile peace. We need God to be at the center of our lives. We need to be one nation under God. We need to follow God’s vision for a more peace-filled world for all. We will gather on January 1 at the Table of the Lord for Mass at 8 am and 10 am. Let’s make a profound gesture – a statement – that we start this new year by centering our lives on the Lord.

New Year’s Eve Mass: 7:30 am, 9:00 am, 10:30 am, noon, or 5:00 pm
New Year’s Day Mass: 8:00 am and 10:00 am

Family Prayer in the New Year

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for this opportunity to start anew in the upcoming year. It is because of you that we navigated safely through this past year. There are countless blessings around us if we have eyes to see them. We welcome the year ahead of us with HOPE.

We, as a family, Lord, know that we are so blessed. We pray for strength to get through the hardest parts of the year, and the many adjustments we would be making. We pray that should temptation stumble upon our path, we could simply look away, remembering, and desiring every goal we have set.

May our family remain close and work together towards wonderful things. We know that nothing we do compares to your glorious work, but we strive to be like you in everything we do. Let us start this new year off the right way, and that is by talking to you, Lord God.

In your name, we pray, Amen!
