…”Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”    In last weekend’s bulletin, I put this weekend’s Gospel.  I was flying at 6:00 am to the mission and looked up the wrong week.  Thus the error last week and the repeat this week.  However, it’s a message worth repeating over and again.  Every day, Jesus invites us to come to Him.  He will be our strength, our help and our peace.  Come to the Lord in your moments of need.  Come to the Lord in your times of joy and rejoicing. Come to the Lord in the beauty of summer and in the ordinariness of each day.  Come to the Lord.  Jesus will always be with you.

…So many of our members “come to the Lord” by visiting the Grotto.  Early in the morning….mid-afternoon….early evening, you can see so many walking down to the Grotto for reflection and meditation.  The Grotto is a beautiful place of prayer and reflection.  Come to the Lord.

…Speaking of beauty, take a walk around the campus and see the beauty of the flowers and plants.  We are so blessed by so many of our members laboring with the greatest of care to create a beautiful place for all to come and find the beauty and the peace of the Lord.

…The Adopt a Patch team was hard at it before the Festival and with even greater energy came by last week to make sure that everything was well-attended.  God bless our team.

…Speaking of the festival, last week we received a wonderful thank you note from someone in Parma who came to our festival.  They were just so impressed by the ‘family-spirit’ and ‘friendliness’ of our summer festival.  The Festival Planning Team will come together on July 17 to recap this year’s events and start planning for next year.  God bless Bob Cebula… within hours of Festival 2017 coming to a close…he was working hard to line up dates/rides and bands for next year (June 21-24, 2018).

…Please make plans to join us next Saturday for our Annual Outdoor Mass and Movie Night.  Come down to the Grotto for Mass at 6:00 pm then head up to Hilkert Hall for hot dogs and the trimmings and Disney’s Moana.  It’s always a blessing to see so many of our young families sharing friendship and fun on this summer night.  It’s also a blessing to see so many of our seniors join in the fun.  All are welcome.  Please join us.

…Don’t forget that our neighbors at Saint Martin’s are hosting their annual Chicken BBQ on Sunday, July 9 from noon to 5:00 pm.  Stop by for a great meal and friendship.

…This coming Tuesday our Catholic Works of Mercy Team is meeting for a Summer Picnic along with a time of fellowship.  They work every day – and throughout the year – to take care of all who come to SA in their times of need.  We are blessed by their service to the Lord and our community.  In so many ways, they are the hands and feet of Christ.  Thank you CWM Team.  Thank YOU for your continued support each week by placing your donation to the CWM in the boxes held by the ushers as you leave Mass.  Together we are help people who come to SA.

…Father Rob, Deacon Frank and I were talking last week about the great work the Good Sams do in visiting our homebound, along with those in care facilities and the hospital.  We are so blessed.  As we look to the fall, if you can spare an hour or two a MONTH, we would love to have you consider sharing in this important ministry.  For more information, or to sign up (all the training will be provided), contact Deacon Frank or Father Rob at the Parish Office at 330.460.7300.

…Our Bingo workers have been meeting continuously to discuss ways we can work better together and strengthen our Friday night BINGO Game.  We are blessed by their service to our parish community.  Last week Incarnate Word’s LONG standing Bingo game closed.  Not enough volunteers!!! Bingo helps our parish do all the little things we do for so many….it really makes a difference.  We could use a few helpers…once a month for a few hours.  For more information, contact Mike Mascio at
MMascio@StAmbrose.us.  We need your help to keep our Friday night Bingo game going strong.
Father Carlin shared with me that we celebrated the 40th anniversary of Friday night Bingo on June 10.  From the earliest days – to helping our parish build the new Church – to this day, Friday night Bingo has been, and continues to be, a big support to our community.

…The Vision 20/20 team is coming together this coming Monday to continue our efforts to develop a plan for caring for our Church.  As soon as we get enough information together, we will share it with our entire community.

…Come to me….is the invitation of the Lord.  Every day the Chapel is open for prayer and reflection from 7:00 am until 10:00 pm.  Come and spend some time with the Lord.

…Vacation Bible School takes place next week.  Over 150 volunteers are working hard to make sure that over 325 young people have a great experience and an opportunity to know our Bible Stories and Songs to help us learn about the love and care that God has for each of them and each of us.  If you have any questions concerning VBS, please contact Janet Majka at JMajka@StAmbrose.us.  Please pray for our VBS Team.   May God use them, in wonderful ways, to help our young people grow in their faith and love for God.

…This is also a good time to register for PSR.  Early registration assures you of your preferred time (Monday evening, Wednesday afternoon, Saturday morning).  It’s also a huge help to our amazing PSR Team.  Call Deb Houdek for information or registration forms 330.460.7326.  You can also find them online at www.stambrose.us/psr.

…Come to me, says the Lord.  In these summer days take some time to come to the Lord.  He will always refresh you and save you.  God bless you and your loved ones.  Have a great week.
