On Saturday (August 15), we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. Mary clearly embraced the call of the Lord and found the grace and the strength to say ‘yes’ over and over again. The Feast of the Assumption celebrates Mary taking her rightful place with God in Heaven. We look to her example to inspire us to heed the call, trust the gifts, and walk the path that leads to Heaven.

In your August mailing we set as our prayer for the month the Memorare. It’s an inspiring and beautiful prayer that helps us remember the faithfulness of God which should give us the courage to hear the call and trust the gifts.
Prayer for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Almighty and everlasting God,
You have taken up body and soul
into the heavenly glory the Immaculate Virgin Mary,
Mother of Your Son: Grant, we beseech You,
that, ever intent upon heavenly things,
we may be worthy to be partakers of her glory.
Through Jesus Christ Your Son, our Lord,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
One God, forever and ever.
Amen.
