“…He came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near, for through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.” Saint Paul, in his letter to the Ephesians, recalls that Jesus came to bring us peace….near or far….Christ wants to bring each of us peace. In the Gospel, Jesus went to ‘an out of the way place’ to find peace. How can we take some time in these summer days to step out of the busyness of our lives to find the peace of Christ? Near or far, Christ wants us to have a deep peace in our hearts.
…Take some time this week to stop down by the Grotto….to sit quietly….and seek the peace of Christ. The chapel is also a place to find the peace of Christ. It’s open from early in the morning to pretty late at night (9 pm). Seek the peaceful presence of the Lord.
…Another way to find God’s peace is to walk through our parish campus. It’s simply beautiful thanks to all of our members who work so hard to care for their ‘patches’. We are so blessed. Their efforts create a beautiful place to see and seek God’s goodness and peace in our hearts. This coming Sunday our Adopt- A- Patch team will have a Garden Party to share friendship and give thanks to God for the blessings of their lives. Many thanks for these good members. Take a few minutes to wander around the campus.
…This week is Christmas in July (July 25)!! Many thanks for the great gifts of school supplies that you dropped off over the past few weeks for the students at Saint Rocco School. Your kindness will make all the difference in helping them in the upcoming school year. If you have not yet had the chance to get your school supplies for them, you can still bring them by next weekend. Ed Plaspohl shared with us that the Boys Hope and Girls Hope kids need supplies as well. Thanks for your thoughtfulness.
…The FEST is two weeks away. It’s a great day of faith, family and fun for so many across our region. The FEST is free thanks to some wonderful sponsors and because of the FEST Raffle. You can win GREAT prizes and even more importantly, you can help us keep The FEST FREE and open to everyone. This weekend, one of The FEST team members will be inviting you to join us on Sunday, August 5 and also asking for your support. You can learn more about the FEST and the raffle by going to: www.theFEST.us. Please join us for a great family day all for FREE.
…We are greatly in need of some volunteers on FEST day. A few hours can go a long way to creating this family day of faith and fun. If you can give a couple of hours to help, I’d be so grateful. For more information contact to: www.theFEST.us/volunteer.
…This past Monday was a special day for our Saint Ambrose team. Four of our hard working and spirited staff are heading off to college and we celebrated with a ‘graduation party’. They have done (and continue to do) GREAT work for our parish. It’s been a blessing watching them use their gifts and talents to serve the Lord and our parish community. Please join me in thanking: Grace Harley, Andy Klemm, Joe Monnin, and Steve Schafer for their great work for our parish community.
…It’s hard to believe that we are coming quickly to the end of July. School is not far away. Mrs. Cinadr and Mrs. Mitchell are already working hard to make sure that we are ready for a great year. They are also touring some new students for both Saint Ambrose School and Littlest Angels Preschool. If you have questions about our school programs, they are eager to meet with you and help you learn how we work hard to be everything for every student…every day. Please contact them at: LCinadr@StASchool.us; CMitchell@StASchool.us.
…This is also a great week to register for PSR. We are blessed to have three time options (Monday night, Wednesday afternoon, Saturday morning) so we can help meet the needs of every family and student. We want to help our parents pass on the values of Christ and the rich teachings of the Church. Please let us know how we can help. Contact Janet Majka (JMajka@StAmbrose.us) or Deb Houdek (DHoudek@StAmbrose.us) with question or registration information. Abbreviations for email
…It’s been great spending some time with our junior high students on Monday night, and high school students on Tuesday night for Summer Volleyball. It’s been great to see the friendship and fun they share together. They are wrapping things up this coming week. Many thanks to all the adults who have been so helpful in helping our junior high and high school students have a great time at Saint Ambrose.
…We have been working hard to finalize the blue prints and nail down the plans for the Church repair and renovation. Marous Brothers is collecting bids this coming week. Once we have the details, we will share a complete report with you and our community. Please keep this effort in your prayer. May God guide us and watch over our efforts.
…If you are looking for a fun night out, please join us next Saturday for Neon Bingo. Great people – great food – great fun. See the bulletin for details. We would love to have you and your family/friends.
…Many thanks to all our members who so faithfully work BINGO at Saint Ambrose. They have good fun while they help care for and support our parish. May God bless all of our BINGO volunteers. They always can use a few sets of hands/feet. For more information, please contact Mike Mascio at MMascio@StAmbrose.us.
…This Saturday, July 21 is our annual outdoor Mass and Movie night. It’s a great way to gather with family and friends and enjoy a fun summer night out. If you are getting this via our eblast, I hope you will join us for Mass at 6 pm.
…Take some time this week to experience the peace of Christ. Be assured of my prayers and my great thanks for all you do for our parish community.
