MEDINA, OHIO, January 8, 2021 – Beginning Monday, January 11, Medina County Health Department will begin scheduling COVID-19 vaccination appointments for citizens 80 years of age and older.
In an accordance with guidance issued by the State of Ohio, vaccine for subsequent age groups in the 1B category will be administered through a phased approach in the coming weeks.
“The opportunity to administer vaccine to the next phase of citizens comes at a welcome time. Medina County has experienced a recent rise in cases,” said Krista Wasowski, Medina County Health Commissioner. “The amount of vaccine we receive from week to week is limited, allowing us to start with only a modest schedule. We are grateful to Medina County citizens for their patience as we work through the process of scheduling as many people as supply allows each week.”
Citizens 80 years of age and older can schedule an appointment by calling 330-723-9688, extension 243. At the time of scheduling, they will be given information on when and where their vaccine clinic will be held.
Citizens 65 years of age and older may begin to prepare for when vaccines become available for their age group by registering with our vaccination scheduling app/website. Citizens will not be able to schedule an appointment until their age group is eligible.
